The Moon Festival is a traditional harvest holiday celebrated in China for over 3,000 years.
The Moon Festival is just around the corner! We invite you to come share the magic of the Moon Festival at the Moon Festival Gala on October 11, 2009. This year, San Antonio Chinese Alliance is collaborating with Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), East Asia Institute at UTSA, The Greater San Antonio Chinese Chamber of Commerce (GSACCC), Chinese Society of San Antonio (CSSA), Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce, and Alamo Chinese Language School to organize the San Antonio Moon Festival Gala. The Gala will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake University on Sunday, October 11, 2009. In the evening of October 11, 2009, the Thiry Auditorium in Our Lady of the Lake University will be transformed into a haven of Asian celebration featuring the spectacular classical Chinese dancing by the acclaimed Shanghai Dance Group, followed by the traditional Chinese orchestral music and folk dances presented by San Antonio Chinese Performance Association. Please join us with your families and friends for an unforgettable evening! Additional information is available at http://www.sa-chinese.org/oct2009.htm
