GSACCC made its public debut on April 1, 2008, participating in the six-day "Business China" seminar, which was attended by more than 30 companies and their representatives interested in Sino-China trade. The seminar concentrated on investment opportunities and joint-venture projects. GSACCC President Yan Yan, Vice President Dr. Bin Gu, and Vice Chairman Dr. Jerry Jin, made presentations under the titles of "Sino-China Culture Differences", "China's Present Consumption" and "China's Investment Environment" respectively. Participants were very engaged by their lively and informative presentations. They raised many questions after the seminar during the discussion period and benefited from the expertise of GSACCC staff.
GSACCC is holding a more-in-depth forum on Investment & Business Opportunities in China in May/June 2008. Interested parties are encouraged to participate and may obtain detailed information by visiting www.gsaccc.org.

As you might have seen on the news that a devastating earthquake, magnitude 7.9, that hit SiChuan Province on 5/12/2008.Rescuers dug through schools and homes turned into rubble by China's worst earthquake in three decades to reach victims trapped beneath slabs of concrete, as the death toll from the disaster rose Tuesday to nearly 12,000 (number is increasing) and thousands remained missing.

1、地震发生时，我们在成都高新孵化园某栋二楼上班，突然的摇晃，感觉越来越
强烈，大多数人第一时间没反应过来是怎么回事，全部从座位上站起来互相打量，其中
一位男同事开玩笑：地震，快跑。大家反应过来，一起开跑，我也跟在其中。走到楼道
口，有一个女同事站住了，我推她快跑，她却回身张望，等待。后来我才知道，她在等
她男友——她男友也是我们同事。那一刻的慌乱中，生死之际，莫名感动。

 A massive earthquake rocked southwestern China Monday,
killing thousands of people and creating a new crisis for Chinese
leaders as they prepare to host the Olympics this summer.
The quake, which China's State Seismological Bureau
measured at magnitude 7.8 and the U.S. Geological Survey said was
magnitude 7.9, struck in the middle of the afternoon, flattening school
buildings, shops and homes across a wide, mountainous area around the
epicenter in China's Sichuan province.

measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale jolted Wenchuan County in southwest China's
Sichuan Province at 2:28 p.m. Monday, the State Seismological Bureau (SSB) said.
