The upcoming Chinese New Year, the Year of the Ox, begins on January 26, 2009. To welcome the Year of Ox and kick off the firstcelebration event in San Antonio, the Chinese Society of San Antonio will host a fun-filled grand celebration gala on January 24, 2009 in the elegant Club at Sonterra.
At the gala, you will have the opportunity to appreciate various arts and crafts work at the exhibition. Following the fine sit-down dinner is a wonderful and fun-filled entertaining program including music performance, folk dance, riddles, games and many more fun festivities. We will have ballroom dance this year, with professional DJ invited by CSSA. Door prizes (totaling $600) will be given out to lucky members and grand prizes ($1600) will be drawn during the ballroom dance.
This is the most exciting event to begin the Year of Ox. Bring your family and friends to the celebration gala and have an unforgettable evening. The following are details:

Event Tickets:
(including dinner, drink, door Prize drawing for members):
Member: $30 per adult,
$15 per child 11 or younger
Non-member: $35 per adult, $15 per child.
Attire:
Coat and tie for men; cocktail dresses or Chinese dresses for ladies. No blue jean or
denim is allowed at the Club.
Security:
Per the Club security rules all participants must purchase tickets before Jan 10, so the guest list
can be provided to the Club at Sonterra. No walk-in is accepted
Raffle Tickets for Grand Prizes:
$2 each, all event participants are eligible to purchase. You may purchase the raffle tickets
in advance or on-site. You can buy multiple raffle tickets to increase the chance of winning.
The grand prizes include:
One Samsung 42” flat screen TV ($1000);
Two Sharp Blu-Ray Disc Players ($300each).

• Attendees are responsible for keeping the tickets from the date received in mail until the time of event.
• Attendees are responsible for making sure that the raffle tickets are put into the box.
• If the tickets are lost, they will not be replaced.

Vegetarian Meal can be requested during ticket purchase. Vegetarian meal includes grilled vegetables with garden rice pilaf.
